We enjoyed our trip to Balgonie Castle very much. The castle is of course not as big as stirling castle, but it costs much less, just 5 £ per person (not 15 £ like Stirling). What is great: the Laird ... more »
I just saw the castle from the route and to stop there, even with an awful weather, was the best decision ever! The owner was sooo welcoming, he showed us everything about the Castle!! (I wish I could... more »
The Laird gave us a tour of the castle and told us of all the restoration that has been undertaken. Him and his family have worked very hard to keep this lovely castle open so the public can learn the... more »
Absolutely awful. The only reason they're getting 1 star is because the chapel and the ceremony were lovely. It all goes downhill after there. To start with there were no staff to serve drinks, not a big deal but still pretty poor. When we went for food it took almost 2 hours to get the main course (I was one of the 'lucky' ones who actually got food). This was supposed to be a medieval feast. I got 2 slices of meat, 1 potato and a spoon of veg. Medieval feast, I think not. When the bride and groom complained it was left to the children working there to sort it out, where were the management? As for the post that was placed on their website about the guests being escorted off the premises by the police, I can assure you that I have never been escorted anywhere by the police and how dare they suggest that I have. I think they'll find that the guests walked out before dessert due to the shocking situation we found ourselves in. As for upsetting the son, he didn't look very upset when he was being rude to the guests.
Great experience at Balgonie for a friend's wedding. The staff were great, very professional and engaging, and the venture is truly unique. Highly recommend for those looking for something different and appreciate history. Sad to see the hate campaign, ignore it!
Thank you for your beautiful castle leard balgonie❤️😃🙌🏻 and you opened your doors for us😃we love your castle👍🏻🛡⚔️🗡❤️
Talking to them on social media they come off as vile. To be honest there is far better castles in Scotland with less opinionated staff than these losers. Way to go with the insults just lost half of Scotland as customers well done
Some real VILE & unwarranted politically geared comments on here from 'responsible' people that haven't even visited the castle. People with no life & less morals. Shame, ruining Scotland & it's businesses is their favourite past time.
