  • Yes I know it's quirky and I am sure overseas visitors love it for being very English but some of the items are just ridiculous and is obviously some ones eccentric collection of memorabilia (????) an...  read more »

  • This was another lovely surprise in Margate. The social artefacts on display were well worth seeing and after viewing them we treated ourselves to a cream tea on the verandah-excellent.
  • We stayed overnight and the hotel has a very vintage feel. Great to have a nose around and I loved the still operating 1927 lift! I booked online and mentioned we have a 12 week year old baby and they provided a travel cot which we didn't expect. The rooms are more modern than the rest of the hotel which was nice. They also have a pool table, 2 bars, outside terrace with a beautiful sea view. It's around a 15minute walk into Margate main beach so it's close enough to walk but also quiet enough during the evening. Staff are very pleasant and they are a long running family business. Maybe a few less pictures of the owners face wouldn't go amiss (she's everywhere) 😅
  • Visited for a coffee on the terrace. Lovely view and service was fine. Bottles were being dumped in the bottle bank continually as we sat there which we felt was unnecessary at that time. Also furniture cushions could do with an update. However coffee was delicious and we had a pleasant relaxing time here (after the bottles!).
  • I didn't stay in the hotel, but did attend a wedding here, the food was great, and very large portions, the staff were all friendly and helpful, and the decor was strange and eccentric. I liked it here.
  • Such a lovely wedding food was amazing and staff so friendly
  • Fabulous hotel, and wonderful staff. Stayed there a week and enjoyed every minute of it. I have never come across a team that goes so far to make sure that you enjoyed your stay. Very much a character hotel with a victorian theme.
