  • We visited today with my 2 year old daughter. It was very busy but that's to be expected with it being a weekend in the school holidays. The pool temperature is quite cold and you have to keep moving ...  more »

  • I am absolutely disgusted reading of the treatment of the 2 trans boys! One has commented here. I'm sorry you had to experience this. They need a serious staff shake up including a good course in Equality and Diversity. It's 2017, unbelievable. It's been open, (now and again!) for many years and has always had various issues. From the many comments on the subject also a serious risk of health and safety! MDC really should take notice. Was thinking of going but no, I'll stick with Lammas LC, which would get a 5 star rating from me any day. Yes it's a lane pool only but a much better experience, it's new and modern throughout.
  • We went for the slides, rapids and the waves but was very disappointed with the whole experience. There are 3 slides, 1 (yellow) is pretty good with a long queue, the white one is pathetic with no real gradient or water to push you along and the other one (red) didn't work. The waves are approximately every half hour but do not do much. The rapids, I assume this is the two feet wide channel near the waves, definitely not rapid or even to the standard of a lazy river. The competition pool is quite good for a good swim with 6 lanes. To finish the day we went to the cafe which had run out of coffee! This is even though they have signs saying we are proud to serve Co**a coffee. I would certainly not hurry to go back.
  • Not the best. Staff were nice enough except when we asked about the colour coding for the slides. They have not changed them all and what they have done is used gaffer tape to stick up temp laminated signs up. The person at the top of the stairs was quite rude about it when questioned. Showers were inadequate for the volume of people. Also not enough family changing. There was also an odd smell. Nothing like chlorine. Seemed tainted with go knows what. Our son had fun but, the place is dated well into the 80s. A big updated is needed as it's tires and it shows.
  • Good parking (which is refunded on purchasing swimming entry). Changing is generally clean and not too crowded. Large pool with periodic wave making machine (great fun). Several water slides of various styles normally operational. Can get busy here on Saturday... recommend arriving for 10 am to get the quietest visit. There is also a 'serious' swimming pool for propper 'sporties' :)
  • Absolutely appalling. Paid nearly £20 for a family swim as soon as we got in wanted to get out. Sewage smell wafting throughout at first very cloudy/filthy water (understand with wave machine but especially bad today) rule change on slides with no signs to pre warn swimmers...then witnessed a very public display of nausea followed by vomiting by a life guard in the public toilets. After looking to see what was happening I was shocked to see said lifeguard carrying on her duties slumped and fanning her face looking completely unfit to sit at a desk let alone carry out 'lifeguard' duties. After having a look round at other 'lifeguards' I was shocked at how not only they were yawning their heads off but chatting to each other with utter disregard to their duties and the public swimmers, many of which are young children. I can safely say that the Water Meadows I once loved to bring my children to is now no longer on our list of swimming pools we will ever attend again... A serious evaluation of lifeguards and their capabilities and commitment to their role is an absolute must by higher management in my opinion.
