  • This is what it is. A great place for cyclists, walkers etc to stop off and get a proper mug of tea and down to earth food at next to nothing prices. Nothing poshed up. The mining history is also well worth a look.
  • Interesting place, well worth a visit. It is nice to see local history being preserved. They have a canteen where there is a selection of home made food. I particularly recommend the bacon cobs. Last orders 1:30.
  • Great to see what volunteers can achieve. Excellent catering at good cheap prices. Lovely views all around. Hardwick Hall one way. Free parking. Beer festival at end of April
  • Beautiful area to visit, a fab walk for families and dog walkers, and a great cycle track too. A bit of history for the little ones but pit buildings close at 2pm so make sure you go morning if you want to go inside.
  • Being an ex Miner this place seems to capture all that was good at the pit bringing back so many happy memories
