Unfortunately it's currently closed due to fire damage. It's a lovely Hall and gardens full of trees but fairly small. Hopefully it will open up to the public as it was not before the fire.  more »

  • Full of history. Looking forward to the reopening
  • I have just been here today and I was very impressed. There are woodland walks with beautiful conifers, pines, yews and broadleaved trees with vast areas of open spaces great for dogs, kids etc. There is a play area and cafe, horticultural centre with hot house and a farm shop. Sadly the hall is covered in scaffolding due to the fire damage in March 2016. The one thing I can't understand is that a grade two listed building that is so important isn't protected enough. This place is well worth a visit just for the parkland alone, so get out there and enjoy it!
  • How many miles is this place from Manchester City centre????
  • Closed for rebuild at moment due to fire.
  • Just a a pity that the hall is closed to the public

Where to stay in Manchester

Some of Manchester's finest hotels are located near the city center. Staying there will keep you close to all of the city's main attractions, as well as its main road and rail networks. Manchester's centrally located hotels boast modern rooms, good food, and friendly staff. From there you can easily explore Manchester's famous pubs, rooftop bars, and restaurants. For a more leisurely and quiet experience of the city, venture farther away from the central areas. There you can explore a world of relatively inexpensive boutique hotels and self-catering apartments, especially convenient for visitors using Manchester as a base for exploring northern England and North Wales.
