Where to stay in Manchester

Some of Manchester's finest hotels are located near the city center. Staying there will keep you close to all of the city's main attractions, as well as its main road and rail networks. Manchester's centrally located hotels boast modern rooms, good food, and friendly staff. From there you can easily explore Manchester's famous pubs, rooftop bars, and restaurants. For a more leisurely and quiet experience of the city, venture farther away from the central areas. There you can explore a world of relatively inexpensive boutique hotels and self-catering apartments, especially convenient for visitors using Manchester as a base for exploring northern England and North Wales.

  • Had a nice stroll and a lung full of fresh air here yesterday. A nice spot in a busy city centre and will definitely visit again. Especially loved walking round the boating lake.  more »

  • I had a wonderful Saturday afternoon walking around the lake. There was a man helping remove rubbish and planting a reed bed. There were also many ducks and ducklings, one had exploded, but the rest w...  more »

  • Very spacious, with lots of different park attractions: large grassed fields, hill, big lake with a central island, trees, blackberry bushes, gardens, 3 different playgrounds, sports and skateboarding areas, and more... HOWEVER: Not clean, always rubbish here and there, dog and duck litter everywhere (you always have to watch where you step). Furthermore, once it's a bit warm the area around and near the lake would be full of flying bugs of high density.
  • The park is large, plenty of space to walk, has a beautiful lake. It has separate play areas for younger and older children. The only thing it needs is a cafe, but the ice cream van is a nice substitute.
  • Lovely park. Really well used by the community. Beautifully manicured lawns, fruit trees, a sunken garden and half pipes. Great place for a picnic, especially now as the blossom trees are lightly depositing a gentle and fragrant confetti all around. The toilets could be better kept though. And the students need to pick up their mess and take it with them.
  • Lovely place to fly a kite whilst eating spam with your trousers down. Not my favourite place to so it but in my top 7 at least.
  • Nice clean and open and entry gate is easy to get in or out not like other park gate u have climb high up ur bike path are smoth nice setting area
