Where to stay in Manchester

Some of Manchester's finest hotels are located near the city center. Staying there will keep you close to all of the city's main attractions, as well as its main road and rail networks. Manchester's centrally located hotels boast modern rooms, good food, and friendly staff. From there you can easily explore Manchester's famous pubs, rooftop bars, and restaurants. For a more leisurely and quiet experience of the city, venture farther away from the central areas. There you can explore a world of relatively inexpensive boutique hotels and self-catering apartments, especially convenient for visitors using Manchester as a base for exploring northern England and North Wales.

  • Travelled 3 hrs for this session, my son struggled even sitting on his bike so I thought an hours session wouldn't be enough but after an hour my son was riding his bike on his own. The 2 coaches were...  more »
  • Just back home from rounds 1&2 of the national BMX series. This was our second visit to this amazing facility. Plenty of parking, great onsite cafe with reasonable prices. I wish we didn't live a 4 an...  more »
  • I received a surprise taster session this week. I was so nervous about it before I arrived and the nerves got worse as soon as I stepped onto the track. It seemed so daunting. It turned out to be so a...  more »

  • Went as a spectator while my son rode at a club event. Plenty of parking on a Sunday at 10am, there's a huge car park around the back too. Hire bikes are all Dolan with clip pedals, although you can get clip-on toe-strap pedals. Instructor (Peter) is very good, and uses humour well to make people feel at ease. An hour is enough to get a feel of what's going on. Some time spent getting used to riding a velodrome, before a time-trial. It's quite warm, so if you're riding bring plenty of fluids. Just remember - Keep Pedalling.
  • Came for another taster track session. Brilliant session, just 3 riders today and a great chance to really go for it on the track. Loved every second.
  • This is a great facility!! Hoping more of the young get the chance to take up cycling in some form, weather it be racing or just for fun☺
  • Only really used the free car park as a Base to head into Clayton Vale and hit the mountain bike trails. The Philips Park skills track was good for my 12 year old son.
  • Amazing. Heart rate and adrenalin is pumped up so much when I'm on the track. The coaching staff are great.
