Where to stay in Manchester

Some of Manchester's finest hotels are located near the city center. Staying there will keep you close to all of the city's main attractions, as well as its main road and rail networks. Manchester's centrally located hotels boast modern rooms, good food, and friendly staff. From there you can easily explore Manchester's famous pubs, rooftop bars, and restaurants. For a more leisurely and quiet experience of the city, venture farther away from the central areas. There you can explore a world of relatively inexpensive boutique hotels and self-catering apartments, especially convenient for visitors using Manchester as a base for exploring northern England and North Wales.

  • A fantastic place for all the family. I would recommend coming to one of the various events that are held throughout the year. There are lots of exhibits to see and the museum captures the public transport in Greater Manchester from times bygone to the present day. The bacon barms at the café are of particular note if you come in the winter time, as are the warm pies served traditionally with peas.
  • Interesting to see all the old busses. Not extremely kids friendly. It's understandable why your not allowed on all the busses but my children were quite disappointed they couldn't drive a double decker bus.
  • A great day out for kids and adults alike. Small cafe on-site, lots of different exhibits, some you can climb aboard, a very enjoyable way to spend an afternoon!
  • You can actually go into some of the really old buses. Great experience. Some of the bus routes are still in use.
  • OK if you like busses. Only takes about an hour to get round but it's inexpensive and good to visit on a rainy day.
