You are going to Manchester a few days, you can not forget to go through this Museum! If you go with children better! It is a museum very interactive and suitable for the smallest of the family! The elderly can enjoy of how cotton, see model and ancient machines of locomotion... Very interesting and free! The only thing that closes at 5 pm!

  • A fantastic museum, one of my favourites in Manchester. So why four stars rather than five? Because some of my favourite exhibits, the gas gallery and underground Manchester, are closed and aren't due to reopen until 2018. Setting that aside though, there's still a huge amount to see. One of my other favourite areas is the steam gallery where you can see a variety of engines running as well as the pumps used for hydraulic power in Manchester.
  • Great exhibits and interesting displays. The airplanes and engines are really impressive to look at and see just how far we've come and yet so little has changed. It's free too and there is no excuse to not come have a look!
  • Absolutely excellent museum. Very clean. Quite impressive, in fact. So many exhibits for all ages (your kids will love it) and extremely modern, and technological architecture. You'll be impressed how good this museum is. They do limit their exhibitions to ones related to History (particularly to do with Manchester) and Physics to be honest, so it's not all science.
  • Lack of storyline. With the material they have, it will be much better if there is a story line to guide/direct people to walk around all of the objects. You can tell that the museum hasn't got any soul by many of the sites that looks like no one has been there for a month.
  • A fabulous day out for all the family. Good transport links. Have also visited with school and lots if great workshops take place for the children.
