A great rainy day activity, loads of problems and routes for all abilities. A good little café andgear shop too.
Upon arrival we had a some brunch (a tasty toastie and a brew) we had travelled from north Wales with an early start so we were in need of food! After refuelling we decided to have a boulder before a ... read more »
Plenty of top rope, lead walls and bouldering for all abilities. Staff are super friendly and helpful plus they run a good selection of courses and classes too.
Plenty of routes including a couple of longer routes and some overhangs. There is a good spread of difficulty levels meaning that anyone can have a go. Sadly a couple of things let it down, there are a couple of kids classes on the weekends, the kids are fine and don't really cause any issues but the staff let the parents hang around on the floor which can be a nuisance. They tend to stand in front of routes and equipment and generally get in the way, some of them also bring young children and allow them to run around unsupervised, this can be a bit worrying for other climbers because they could easily get hurt when they run under ropes. The routes don't seem to be redone very often which is a shame and although less important to some the music is a bit hit and miss, some weeks it's great and really gets you going, other weeks it's terrible and brings the mood right down.
My daughter really enjoyed her lessons and made it up to Nicas level 3. Sadly I was then told she has to attend every week (I can only attend every other week) or pay full fees for the course - in other words paying for lessons she can't make, even though the course was nowhere near full. I've now been forced to cancel which is a real shame.
Very good for sport climbing, with a large selection of walls, heights and a few auto-belayers. Good bouldering area, but may be a little small if you were just bouldering. Also has a cafe and lockers.
The centre offers great climbs and fantastic bouldering rooms. It is the best climbing centre I have ever been to.
Amazing climbing here there are so many routes to keep you busy. Alot of varying degrees of difficulties and all the equipment you'll need. Could have a bigger bouldering section but its a great all round centre.
