  • Situated on Oxford Street, close to Oxford Road Station, Cornerhouse was conceived as a film and Visual Arts Center. The building had three floors with three cinemas, art galleries, a library, a restaurant and a cafeteria. The building was built in 1900 as a furniture store. Cornerhouse opened in 1985 funded by Manchester City Council. In its cinemas I've seen works such as Nosferatu (silent film work), Amores Perros or sex and Lucia. In 2012 it merged with another company to form HOME and in 2015 closes Cornerhouse moved to the HOME Center.
