  • Interesting place to get a fascinating sense of this now uninhabited village in the heart of the Wolds. Conveniently located right on the Wolds Way footpath.  more »

  • Good spot for a walk and to take in the history of this abandoned medieval village. Outlines of Long houses remain. Historical information on signage is interesting. The church is the only period building of which there is a decent amount remaining.
  • It's a great site, beautiful setting thoug limited things to see. Unmanned so you are left to your own devices to explore. Don't expect the ghost towns of America, in many cases it's just outline. The man made pond and the church ruins are the highlights. Be mindful of highland cows, especially if you bring dogs.
  • Lovely walk. Nice to know it's history. The church is beautiful and well kept.
  • Worth every second of a visit, it is one of the most peaceful & calming places I have every visited, my boys love it too especially the little stream, we always unblock the grate between the pond & the stream to make it flow faster, they love that, if you enjoy your history its a great place to come too, having a few of the old buildings marked out is a great help, the old farm house too is a beautiful building as is the church, this place really is a beautiful sanctuary, a place I will visit regularly forever!
  • A really great place for a walk but we found the village itself a bit of a disappointment. It is just some foundations buried in the ground and some markings where houses used to be. A few information plaques at each site but not enough information for our liking. The ruined church was nice and there is a lovely stream and lots of areas ideal for a picnic. I would not call it a destination as such, but a great place for a walk with the dogs.
