  • There is a gravelled car park about a mile away from the village, which is popular with walkers doing the Yorkshire Wolds Way so it may be full. The path to the village is muddy, rough and steeply down...  more »
  • A great walk to the ruins, I imagine taking dogs there would be great as plenty of running off lead available! The ruins are amazing and lots of info dotted around made for an interesting walk. The po...  more »
  • It is a very deserted place but not surprising it’s such a long walk to get to the village from the car park, that’s also a difficult place to find we drove past it three times before we found and the...  more »

  • Good spot for a walk and to take in the history of this abandoned medieval village. Outlines of Long houses remain. Historical information on signage is interesting. The church is the only period building of which there is a decent amount remaining.
  • It's a great site, beautiful setting thoug limited things to see. Unmanned so you are left to your own devices to explore. Don't expect the ghost towns of America, in many cases it's just outline. The man made pond and the church ruins are the highlights. Be mindful of highland cows, especially if you bring dogs.
  • Lovely walk. Nice to know it's history. The church is beautiful and well kept.
  • Worth every second of a visit, it is one of the most peaceful & calming places I have every visited, my boys love it too especially the little stream, we always unblock the grate between the pond & the stream to make it flow faster, they love that, if you enjoy your history its a great place to come too, having a few of the old buildings marked out is a great help, the old farm house too is a beautiful building as is the church, this place really is a beautiful sanctuary, a place I will visit regularly forever!
  • A really great place for a walk but we found the village itself a bit of a disappointment. It is just some foundations buried in the ground and some markings where houses used to be. A few information plaques at each site but not enough information for our liking. The ruined church was nice and there is a lovely stream and lots of areas ideal for a picnic. I would not call it a destination as such, but a great place for a walk with the dogs.
