  • Our second property on our excursion was Stoneacre and it is so gorgeous! We knew very little about it and got there a little late having charged the car on the way but the volunteers were so helpful and informative. The NT app doesn't tell you much about the property but it was the perfect accompaniment to Red House as Aymer Vallance, the guy who restored it in the 1920s, was friends with William Morris and you could see the similarities, particularly in the glasswork! I really really recommend a visit, the house is small but detailed, the garden was stunning including this sea of daffodils and the tearoom looked fab (we didn't have time to indulge ourselves). Absolutely loved it!
  • Another beautiful national trust site. Open weekends and with a lovely garden to sit it after your tour inside. Independent coffee area with great food too.
  • Nice house and gardens, definitely worth a visit, but quite small compared to other National Trust properties and not too much to look at.
  • Now a favourite NT haunt. Petite, bijou, beautiful atmosphere and sense of presence and wonderful room guides. Modest sized undulating grounds with woodland and water - not ideal with killer heels! Especially beautiful in afternoon sun. Bohemian spirited tea room offering warm welcome with 'nothing is too much trouble attitude'. Check opening times.
  • Very interesting. Quite a walk uphill from car parking area.
