  • If you are visiting Maidstone or if you live there and have just never been, this is one to enjoy. There are rooms and rooms full of fascinating history about the area and beyond as far as ancient Japan, Roman times, Victorian and right the way back to the dinosaurs. Areas focusing on nature, the environment, religion, war and peace and there's even a mummy on display. Then there are the walls of historical paintings, telling stories of how the country took shape over the centuries and there's an art gallery too which has some very nice visiting exhibitions through the year. The whole place is child friendly, there's a cafe and a gift shop too and after your visit, the Brenchley gardens park is right behind the museum.
  • We had an enjoyable morning at Maidstone Museum with our Grandson. The Egyptian exhibition with the mummy was very interesting & we loved the dinosaurs. A lot to see & do. Well worth a visit.
  • A brilliant place to visit. Interesting collections, lovely old building and friendly staff.
  • A great afternoon out.
  • I really like this museum. Plenty things to see for the little ones and they also do the egg hunt ant Easter time and have many other activities
