Leeds Castle, Maidstone

4.3
A favorite wedding venue for local couples, Leeds Castle is widely regarded as one of England’s most romantic locations. A castle has been on this site since 1119, eventually coming into the hands of King Edward I, for whom it became a beloved home. Henry VIII used it in the 16th century, making it an official residence for his first wife, Catherine of Aragon. Today, the castle is a major attraction, including a maze, grotto, golf course, and what may be the world’s only museum of dog collars. Tickets are valid for a whole year, so you can visit the castle as many times as you wish. Skip the long line by booking online. • My family took me to Leeds Castle as a part of my Birthday present.. We arrived late morning and as we were booked to stay for the night my daughter went to let them know that we had arrived.. Booking in time was from 2pm..They gave her information on what there was to do and times for each event. We were also given vouchers for a free drink in the restaurant...we got our drinks and then headed to the area near to the maze.. After eating our picnic we went to an area nearby to wait for the falconry display.. In the meantime my children went to the maze...they enjoyed it..The falconry display was really good.. We then went to the castle and enjoyed that too.. They were really helpful with us as my mother was in a wheelchair.. We had a really lovely stay at the hotel.. It was a little noisy because of the birds but we didn't mind. The breakfast was very good. I would definitely recommend it to anyone and would go back to do the activities we didn't get to do this time..
  • We are regular visitors to Leeds Castle and absolutely love going there. The woodland walk is tranquil and calm with many different species of trees and wildlife. The castle is beautiful and well looked after. The information given in very factual and informative. There is a wide variety of food and drink available for all. The children's activities are amazing and the adventure parks are awesome. The gardens are beautiful and full of species of plants and flowers. All in all a wonderful place to visit and is always a huge favourite with our family.
  • Had a lovely time. This place is definitely disabled friendly. Even the cafe in the court has a table for wheelchair users. They are friendly and helpful. If you take your scooter you cannot go into the castle unless you can transfer to one of their wheelchairs. Lovely garden and views. Plenty of birds to see even falconry display.
  • Great. Day made by the wonderful man on the punt. Even more knowledgeable than me - and i have spent 2 decades reading history books. Go out and see this beautiful castle from the moat and hear the history.
  • Great place to go with family of all ages. Beautiful architecture combined with nature make it worth it. Price is good and 1st entrance is available for 12 months unlimited returns..
