4.3/5 based on 2,800+ reviews on the web
A favorite wedding venue for local couples, Leeds Castle is widely regarded as one of England’s most romantic locations. A castle has been on this site since 1119, eventually coming into the hands of King Edward I, for whom it became a beloved home. Henry VIII used it in the 16th century, making it an official residence for his first wife, Catherine of Aragon. Today, the castle is a major attraction, including a maze, grotto, golf course, and what may be the world’s only museum of dog collars. Tickets are valid for a whole year, so you can visit the castle as many times as you wish. Skip the long line by booking online. • Loved this place, so much to see. The grounds are beautiful even if you didn't bother with the castle. Fun maze for the children with a great grotto hidden away underneath. Falconry, play area, go ape...  read more »

  • I find this castle absolutely amazing, the grounds are just stunning and with all of the events and attractions, it's a great day out. Although some people may same that the admission tickets are expensive, they are valid for re-entry until a year after purchase so you can carry on re-using the same ticket! I am currently attending work experience with the Leeds Castle Falconry Department which happens to be my favourite attraction but I'm biased. I seriously encourage anyone in the area to visit, you really won't regret it!
  • Was very disappointed from our visit yesterday. We have been visiting Leeds Castle for many years. Our children use to enjoy scooter/bike ride and we use to enjoy a meal with a glorious view. All that left of it is view. They have banned bikes/ scooters, etc, without explanation with regards to the reasons. Somebody once said it is to avoid accidents. Well, from 10 years going there we had not even once experienced or witnessed any accidents, involving children on bikes or scooters, etc. I think soon, they would ban children altogether, these little people like to run (this might cause a serious accident!) The Fairfax restaurant: the selection of food was very poor; children could only choose from two types of pasta (with some sauces) And there was no carvery offered. Overall, very basic meals. We have also noted, that all the restaurants/cafes were closed just after 4. A big disappointment for our kids, who wanted to buy some ice cream. All in all, it is a shame witnessing that the services went down. I would not say it is family friendly and, judging by how quiet it was, probably other people agree.
  • Leeda castle is a beautiful place. Lovely estate to walk through. They have a great maze leading to the grotto; also remodelled the kids play area a year or two ago. Interesting owl shows. They had a great aviary with a great collection of birds; its a shame they couldnt keep up with the maintenance of the lovely birds. They now have a small boat ride on the lake. But i think it has been going downhill since past few years and increase in entry prices have not helped at all.
  • Really the loveliest Castle in the world. Beautiful interiors with stunning flower compositions; amazing park perfect for a weekend picnic with family and friends. Try not to get lost in the maze!
  • This is one of my fav castles in the whole of England to visit. The peacocks that are wandering the grounds are amazing. They have a maze which is actually somewhat challenging. A fun great day out.
