Took our grandson. Small farm but it’s great for the little ones just enough. Cafe is good with outside tables as well as inside. more »
A great farm to take you're children, particularly in lambing season as you have the option to hold newly born lambs for a nominal fee of £1.50. It serves a lovely variety of home made ice cream and I would recommend going on the trail around the farm to enjoy the local scenery and environment. There is also a shop where you can paint your own porcelain, which is enjoyable and fun for both the young and old.
Fantastic farm, tea rooms and ice cream parlour. We tend to visit twice a year, once during lambing and once during the summer to enjoy their delicious ice cream. The lambing is a fantastic experience, with the farmer being on hand (literally) to tell you all about what's going on. It was really educational for the children, who were absolutely amazed with it all. You can also hold and cuddle the cute little lambs which is a real bonus. All this for £1.50 is an absolute bargain!! In the summer there's a great nature trail where you can see some of the animals and a lovely outside eating area. There is a tractor for the children to play on and a brilliant pipe slide. It's worth keeping an eye on their Facebook page for events, we're certainly hoping to attend the summer event to learn about what they do with the sheep's wool. The food from the tea room and the ice cream are all delicious and very reasonably priced. It's worth remembering that due to the farm's remote location it is cash only.
A working sheep and cattle farm with great ice cream and good food. As well as the cows and sheep they have chickens, geese ducks, a donkey, some goats and miniature horses. There is a nature walk that can get very muddy in the winter and a slide by the cafe. Free entry they just ask you to buy food from the cafe if you want anything. Very exciting when lambing is happening for which there is a small charge.
This place is great for toddlers; we have a 6 and 3 year old so was a very quick visit. There's a lovely trail there too and a tea room with home cooked foods and nice reward for the adults. The tea room is how the farm is funded and remains free so if you're spending 2-3hrs there eating at the dairy farm is a great way to support the farm and treat yourselves too with their home made food.
Always a joy to venture out to here. Ice-cream made from their own A2 milk heard. Plenty to wander round and see in terms of animal farm. Only thing to consider is as it's a working farm, parking can be a bit tricky as it is so popular, but I'm sure they have an overflow field.
