  • You will (most likely) see a lot of deer here, and they won't run away! That's about it! (apart from being free) However, parking at Bolderwood (barely a step away, and actually also the parking place...  more »
  • You can normally rely on this spot to see a large herd of deer, led by an impressive stag and also a couple of unusual white deer. Mind you you're also as likely to see deer in the grounds of the Burl...  more »

  • Lovely place to visit, we took our two young children, who had lots of fun! Lots of parking, which is free, but you can make a donation. Toilets onsite, which were clean. The sanctuary was lovely, we saw deer and a stag. It was very accessible with a buggy, only one place were it was a little difficult, on the way back. Overall we all had a great time and would recommend it, for families, couples and individuals.
  • Lovely place to visit in the forest. Sometimes there aren't many deer out and about to see. Designated BBQ areas and a nice field for some ball games. Ice cream van seems to be here every day of the year! Plenty of shade if it's a really hot day. Couple of nice walks to stretch your legs.
  • I've been back here many times over the years. You don't always see deer, but I've seen them more often than not. The drive up through the arboretum (best way to come!) is stunning whatever the time of year and the walks through the woods are lovely. Oh and it's Free!!
  • Lovely place to cycle to, has toilets, ice cream van and a picnic area. Can get very busy with cars during weekends and holidays
  • Saw loads of deer here....really is the luck of the draw! Lovely walks and very peaceful
