  • I have read several reviews on 'the cheese shop' and sympathise very much with the 'told off' customers. For what it's worth I didn't enjoy my visit either - felt I was being watched - surely it is up...  more »

  • Loved this place, knowledgeable staff with a real passion for food. Real shame to have turned up this year to find it has closed and is now a stone mason
  • Great place, loads of variety and staff are very helpfull
  • Wow, what a lovely little shop! It's full of an amazing selection of mostly South West cheeses plus a few of the best Continental varieties and all the thingymajigs you could want to enjoy your cheese with. We had some Gold Hill from Cranbourne Chase, some Quickes Cheddar and a Cerney Pyramid. And a couple of cheeky Devon ice creams on the way out. All really delicious. The chap behind the counter was super helpful and answered the 101 questions that we put to him, he really knows his cheese! The interior is nice and simple, very stylish and super clean. We're going back to buy Town Mill truckles as Christmas gifts for all our friends and family, that saves trawling round the shops on Christmas Eve, job done, who doesn't like cheese?!?
