Located at the end of the historic "Cobb" (harbor wall), Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium educates visitors about the fish and marine life of the area. This child-friendly venue allows you to participate in hands-on exhibits: hold a starfish, hand-feed a mullet fish, and touch a lobster. The aquarium also displays nautical artifacts and shows a presentation about the area's history, including the Cobb. This aquarium is a great rainy-day destination. Very hands-on interaction with the fish, and an extremely enthusiastic, knowledgeable owner!
It's a small aquarium, but very entertaining. Our three girls *absolutely loved* feeding the mullet--it's almost worth the (not insignificant) ticket price just to do this. The owner and the biologist there are friendly and informative. Our girls also got to hold starfish, which they also thought was neat. Take your kids!
Absolute rip off. It's 2 tiny rooms. Better off going to a fish shop.
Had a brilliant time here today with the children. Max (the owner) was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and amusing. The children loved the interaction with the Mullet and thoroughly enjoyed handling the star fish as well as having their photo taken with the enormous crab and lobster. Felt it was good value for money and we will certainly be back soon. Definitely recommend this lovely quirky aquarium on The Cobb!
Small but very interesting and fun for the family
