Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium, Lyme Regis

4.0
Located at the end of the historic "Cobb" (harbor wall), Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium educates visitors about the fish and marine life of the area. This child-friendly venue allows you to participate in hands-on exhibits: hold a starfish, hand-feed a mullet fish, and touch a lobster. The aquarium also displays nautical artifacts and shows a presentation about the area's history, including the Cobb. This aquarium is a great rainy-day destination. • We dropped by not long after getting of the bus from Sidmouth (09/07/19). It cost £6 per adult entry. The nice chap at the entrance showed us the appropriate starting point which was the large U-shape...  more »
  • Such a wonderful family-run place. The staff are brilliant and very hands on. Though the aquarium is quite small it's well worth it because you can hold the star fish and - best of all - feed the mull...  more »
  • Picturesque location on the Cobb in Lyme Regis. Family run and merits support. Really interesting with a quirky touch to it. Feeding the fish was great fun and lots of interesting specimens to wander ...  more »

  • This aquarium is small but has a personal family touch. The children loved feeding the mullet and were there for ages! They held a starfish and enjoyed seeing all the other fish. No toilet as right at the end of the Cobb so go in Lyme Regis before you walk the Cobb. It is reasonably priced and the fish food is an extra £3 per pot. Recommend!
  • The aquarium is an absolute must if you are visiting Lyme Regis! The boys spent ages feeding the fish and the owner could not have been nicer, showing us around, talking about the fish and where they come from and getting starfish and crabs out for us to hold and have photos with. Very reasonably priced. My 3 year old had to go back 2 days in a row!
  • Fantastic place to get a bit closer as you properly hold a starfish and feed the fish. But only 4 stars as I felt it was slightly overpriced. Note, no concessions for seniors and no cards accepted. Overall though the passion of people who work there makes it a nice place to visit.
  • Lovely aquarium! The staff was lovely and showed us how to put our hands into the fish tank to feed those fishes and showed us to hold the starfish too. It’s fun and great experience for kids. Great place to visit!
  • It's a lovely intimate experience. It's family run with very knowledgeable and friendly staff. It's a great place for families as it's very interactive - you get to hand feed the fish - which is unique experience, and you also get to hold star fish
