Lyme Regis Golf Club, Lyme Regis

4.5
#2 of 20 in Golf in Dorset
Golf Course · Hidden Gem · Outdoor Activity
Lyme Regis Golf Club was founded in 1893 and is recognised as one of the finest golf courses in the South West. The course occupies a cliff top site with coastal views towards Portland Bill and overlooks the historic town and World Heritage Site of Lyme Regis.

The condition of the course is the source of constant praise from visiting golfers and is to the credit of our team of expert and dedicated greens staff.

Although on a cliff top plateau the course itself is not actually hilly and golfers can enjoy an exhilarating round of golf with some magnificent views.

Why not have a look at what Lyme Regis Golf Club has to offer, on our website - http://lymeregisgolfclub.co.uk/, in the "On The Course" section.

  • Attracted by the many "Welcomes non-members" signs, I wandered into the outdoor terrace, this pm, intending to buy a drink and wait for some friends who were playing 9 holes. I had 2 dogs, on leads, well- behaved, with me...and didn't think this would be an issue, as I couldn't see a "No dogs" sign anywhere. I was called over by a mature gentleman, golf club suit and tie, who asked me "had I been invited...and by who?" I was told that I wasn't welcome and dogs were not allowed anywhere within the perimeter of the club, including the car park! Welcome indeed!
  • Lovely Course that is challenging when the wind gets up but also fair. Lovely welcoming atmosphere.Bar and food excellent. Great Coaches for both adults and kids.
