  • Interesting history, not much to see but worth a walk around if in the area. Well maintained by English Heritage and open all the time,  more »
  • Small, quiet and not flocking with tourists thankfully. Nice little pub next to castle but not much else in this little village - again thankfully.  more »
  • Very interesting old castle, you can walk inside and see all the workings. A slight climb but well worth the effort  more »

  • A medieval gaol moonlighting as a castle ruin. Worth a visit if you're passing.
  • Not actually a castle...an old prison. Pretty out of the way, but a good little hidden gem. The church next door was fun to explore as well. Lovely setting.
  • Good castle to visit in about an hour, if in the area would recommend Lydford gorge or the granite way, both fantastic walks.
  • Very interesting Castle with free entry.
  • Does not deserve a detour from my point of view.
