  • A lovely safe place to take your kids. Nice no nonsense playground, friendly cafe staff and lots of lovely nature. Really love the transport museum. It's all free as well. I have been here many times and still spot things I haven't seen before. The wild flowers and herbs are beautiful to walk around. If you are visiting the area it's well worth a visit.
  • Great place for a day adventure for adults and children. Plenty of outside and inside activities with plenty room to run around. Excellent cafe that serves hot sandwiches (Stockwood Club is yummy), cakes and ice cream along with kid's meals. We'll worth the trip!
  • It is "A world of Discovery" which is exceptionally good for young minds. The exhibits are excellent and so are the gardens and many picnic areas. Wonderful place to take the kids during the holidays. (Take a picnic hamper.)
  • Honestly I can't see why there are so many positive reviews, it may just be me but I found this place massively boring, you arrive, spend 10 mins looking at very old vehicles (which was the best bit of the whole visit) but after that it's just walking around from all I can see is a... Field, then a small garden with some nice flowers. Then a greenhouse with a fern in it.. That's about it. It may be some peoples idea of a good day out but I went with my partner and I don't think we were there for an hour. At least it was free, cause I couldn't justify paying for it.
  • This is a wonderful place to come, on your own, with a friend or with a young family. Lots of interest inside and out with permanent and short exhibitions, lovely gardens to stroll in, a natural playground for children to test their climbing and clambering skills plus a cafe and loos, and easy parking. The amazing thing is it's all free! There is a donation box as donations help it to continue to run and a shop with a range of gifts, some inexpensive items for kids to spend their pocket money on. Friendly staff too, who will offer guidance what to see and do.
