  • A bit on the expensive side but the choice of food is amazing there, and of very high quality. Staff are fantastic
  • excellent meat selection, butchers really helpful
  • Yes, it CAN be expensive - largely depending on what you buy - but I found the service and the meats I bought to be outstanding, both in terms of quality and value. Perhaps the highest praise should go to the butchers who will happily answer the phone and advise on cuts of meat and cooking details. Not only that, they will even happily make up specialities like Merguez sausages for you, keep mutton and veal, and serve with a smile. As for value...I bought the sausages for £4.12, 2kg of mutton shoulder for £13.55, diced mutton, two pork pinwheels, chicken liver and duck & apricot pates all for £37...great value, great meats and highly recommended.
  • Brilliant. All top quality food. Good coffees beers, cheese, beef, old spot sausages, croissants, fresh bread, pork pies etc etc. Not cheap, but cheap usually = rubbish, and this is all good stuff. And an enormous bunch of carrots for £1.25 isn't exactly a rip off. The adjacent eatery serves up absolutely top class food, not fancy, just damn good. I've eaten a lot of "full English" breakfasts in the last four decades and I can't remember a better one than the LFC.
  • I had the misfortune to be passing the food centre on Saturday 08/03/2015 when my partner and I decided to call in and treat ourselves to a "local" pork pie. Having bought it and driven on some distance we decided to stop and eat . With great anticipation we opened the wrapper to be confronted by what can only be described as the incinerated remains of what once may have been a collection of pork gristle and wafer thin dried up pastry. I would normally buy Melton Mowbray pork pies from Aldi or Tesco ,for around £2.00, and have never been disappointed. To have paid £3.99 for this dried up piece of rubbish was a disgrace.. I would suggest that the owners of the food centre visit Aldi or Tesco in an effort to learn what a pork pie should look and taste like. I can not believe that anybody who has ever purchased a pork pie from the Food Centre has ever been anything other than disgusted!!!
