My wife and I came here for a day out. We had been as children and wanted to avoid the chaos of Banham and Colchester zoos. We had a lovely day wandering around the various enclosures. The key sights ...  more »

  • Wow it was Fantastic...we spent all day here and didn't manage to get round it all but we went to nearly every talk. Keepers were brilliant and knew their animals. Man on train did a live commentary..he was excellent and knew all the animals. All Keepers hands on and approachable..best zoo staff I have come across! Top tip.. Pick up their leaflet to get a discount voucher . Took a picnic so didn't try cafes out.. Lots of benches and loos
  • It's a brilliant zoo to visit. We've been twice now and have really enjoyed it. There is a wheel chair and mobility scooter available to hire but you have to get there early to get it. The animals look cared for and the enclosures seem to be well designed for their needs. There is a play area for the children and a couple of cafe areas - as with most places, they are quite expensive to buy food from. I would advise booking tickets online to save a few pounds. Definitely recommend a day trip here.
  • Good range of animals, plenty of additional activities where staff explain more about the animals. The animals themselves are in decent sized and clean enclosures and you can get a good view of them. A nice place to go for a walk in a sunny day.
  • This is a lovely place with more to do than you can manage in a day. Lovely idea for kids to get a medal at the end. 4 stars because I liked the Cotswolds one more.
  • My family and I have been here twice now and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. The park was very nice and the animals all seemed very happy and well cared for. Well worth the money for an excellent family day out. I would highly recommend and will be visiting again.
