  • We love to visit old houses and stately homes and we felt Kentwell Hall was very interesting and well done. The map we got with our tickets was easy to follow, and we first went to look at the farm an...  more »
  • Privately owned and it must be a massive task to keep this place going but well worth the effort. Interesting interior - not many guides but plenty of information in all the rooms. Fascinating gardens...  more »
  • We have just visited this gem. Everything is so relaxed, informative and friendly. It's been lovingly restored and reflects the owners character bonkers but fabulous! Highly recommend a visit  more »

  • Brilliant family day out on one of their Tudor days. Immerse yourself among 200 or so Tudors doing all sorts of things - making baskets, cooking, chopping wood, blacksmith, etc etc. They're very knowledgeable and interesting. You can spend a day there and still not have seen it all.
  • Great garden and wooden trails. Full of stories for the little ones. We have been there at a private event and we didn't had access inside but we will come back to visit. The gardens are lovely. I really liked the Walled Garden as it has an old orchard with wonderful apple trees. Great family place with plenty to see and do.
  • Simply the best historical tourism spot in the UK. Visit on one of the special events and it's like stepping back in time. Reenactors are there because they are passionate about living history, not like the bored wannabe actors at commercial castles.
  • Elizabethan High Summer Event was excellent yesterday - The actors, including the children, were really good and welcoming. We stayed at nearby Premier Inn, Bury St. Edmunds Town Centre, only 15 minutes away. There was a good selection of freshly made food in the Tea Room. Great family day out!
  • Thirty four years after Kentwell captured my imagination on a school trip to the Tudor re-enactment, my wife and I took our two daughters, aged seven and nine. An amazing day and we could have stayed so much longer! The children have talked about it non-stop and it has really helped our seven year-old bring her understanding of the tudors - this last term's history topic - to life. I'd thoroughly recommend!!
