  • Following the directions of google maps for bike, from Royal Victoria Dock to Woolwich, the signs they carried me, with great surprise, in front of a construction similar to that found in Greenwich to the pedestrian crossing of the River Thames. The pedestrian tunnel Woolwich offers pedestrians and bicyclists an alternative way to cross the river when the Woolwich Ferry service is not running. The south entrance is now somewhat hidden behind a shopping center. The tunnel was completed in 1912 and completely restored in 2011. It is longer than that of Greenwich, its length is 504m. against the 370m of Green wich. Fascinating place as you move from a very industrialized area, the North entrance, entrance to a residential South.
