The pedestrian tunnel Woolwich offers pedestrians and bicyclists an alternative way to cross the river when the Woolwich Ferry service is not running. The south entrance is now somewhat hidden behind a shopping center. The tunnel was completed in 1912 and completely restored in 2011. It is longer than that of Greenwich, its length is 504m. against the 370m of Green wich. We just missed the ferry, so decided to use the tunnel instead. It is free, there are lifts boths sides, they were in operation but we decided to use the stairs instead. 126 stairs on one side and 101... read more »
