Lively, traditional style street market with plenty of different street food options alongside stalls selling artisan ingredients and foods. Food can be consumed in the close by Fortune Street Park or...  more »

Don't ever volunteer at the white cross street party. My worst ever volunteering experience. Got penalised for travel expenses as was not feeling well and staff didn't check on me to see if I was ok. ...  more »

I work nearby for the past 5 years. I would take any new employee of the company out here to get them started. To avoid crowds get there at 11:55am. Shuts around 2pm. If you get lunch around then they...  more »

  • An amazing selection of food from all over. Nice friendly staff at the stalls. Meals are from £4 - £6.50 so really cheap. There is always somewhere new to try. The smells are just wonderful. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options too - there's something for everyone one here. I can't wait to visit it again. It's making me hungry just thinking about it.
  • I liked it better when it was a market that sold almost everything, now it's mainly take away food.
  • Reinvented as a week-day go-to food destination offering a tantalising variety of options at reasonable prices from an international caravanserai of street vendors. A bustling streetscape, an olfactory tease and a taste treat. Join the queue.
  • One of my favourite places to eat in London. Quality street food from across the world (Brazil, France, India, Korea, etc.) at an unbeatable price - one can eat well for £5 at many stands. There's still some remnants of the old street market which once served the local residents, a household utensils stand and a fruit and veg one. But the remaining ~20 stands serve the workers who come for lunch.
  • This food market is amazing. But you have to get there early otherwise you may be disappointed with not having your first choice. Every cuisine is there, my personal favourite is the french crepe stand that have the most delicious fillings, especially for veggies.

Where to stay in London

Many of London's main attractions are spread out, so nearby public transportation is key. There is no downtown area as such in London, and some of the least expensive hotels have more convenient access to tourist sites than the costlier ones. For a quintessential London experience, consider staying in the West End. This part of town offers excellent theaters, historical sites, and eating and shopping options for every taste. Lodging won’t be cheap, but you’ll have the colorful variety of London life right at your doorstep. Look at Notting Hill or Chelsea for charming and less expensive boutique hotels and B&Bs.
