Where to stay in London

Many of London's main attractions are spread out, so nearby public transportation is key. There is no downtown area as such in London, and some of the least expensive hotels have more convenient access to tourist sites than the costlier ones. For a quintessential London experience, consider staying in the West End. This part of town offers excellent theaters, historical sites, and eating and shopping options for every taste. Lodging won’t be cheap, but you’ll have the colorful variety of London life right at your doorstep. Look at Notting Hill or Chelsea for charming and less expensive boutique hotels and B&Bs.

  • Very nice, knowledgeable staff, neat, informative tour...bit pricey L48 for tour. Just take the train to Wimbledon, and walk nice streets or take bus to the site...sit in Centre Court.  more »

  • this is the MECA of all tennis players and tennis fans - a MUST go once in you life - easy access by public transportation - very supportive volunteers guide you around the complex - try the famous strawberries & cream and the classic Pimm's drink
  • Best place for sports like Tennis and cricket. A designated area for Barbeque and Kids games. Best place for a day out in summer. 10 tennis courts that needs to be booked. They're also available on the spot during off peak hours.
  • Very nice crew. We did the tour of the centre court and the museum. Being April we were allowed to park inside the grounds right in front of the museum and centre court. Staff were very friendly and indulged my mother
  • Legendary tennis club and home to the greatest tennis tournament in the world, Wimbledon. Museum open all year round, and is definitely worth a look
  • Perfection in viewing or playing lawn tennis. Don't miss the reasonably priced cream tea and strawberries.
