Nature / Park
St. James's Park is one of the most pleasurable green spaces in London. The oldest of the city's royal parks, it offers 23 hectares (57 acres) of lawns, trees, and playgrounds around a pond. Take a stroll down the queen's ceremonial route from Buckingham Palace, spot the palace and the London Eye from the Blue Bridge, and enjoy a waterside meal at Inn the Park while spotting ducks, geese, swans, and even pelicans. While in the park, keep an eye out for some of the plaques along the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Walk. This 11 km (7 mi) route past buildings and locations related to the princess goes through this park, as well as Green Park, Hyde Park, and Kensington Gardens. • Nice for a lunchtime walk (as I work nearby). Lovely to see the different types of birds and be near some water for a relaxing break. Good to sit on the grass to eat your lunch in the summer, visit the cafe or grab a bit at the many food stands. Very popular with tourists in the summer so can get busy. Arguably quite nice in the rain as it's less busy and nice to see the rain hitting the water and the pigeons all fluffed up on their favourite trees...
  • In my opinion, the most beautiful park in London, UK. Every season has its particular charm: in Spring & Summer it has plenty of flowers; in Autumn the trees get a special, typical color - and pelicans are found by the pond (it is so beautiful that they do not look real pelicans!). There are even paid (& clean) toilets for tourists. A great place to stroll !!
  • Plan it is a very nice park. You can spend time with your friends and you can enjoy the weather with lovely flowers and birds full stop take your photo on the bridge. You can see one side white hall and London Eye you can also Buckingham Palace the other side. the park is quiet and peaceful also very close to Green Park and Hyde Park
  • Beautifully landscaped gardens with generous paths. The ponds have a wide variety of birds. There are numerous refreshments stands dotted around the park. A pleasant escape from the hustle & bustle of London.
  • Birds of all sorts are here as are beautiful views and a lovely walk around behind Buckingham Palace toward Westminster and the Houses of Parliament. Very close to everything too. Beautiful.
