St. James's Park is one of the most pleasurable green spaces in London. The oldest of the city's royal parks, it offers 23 hectares (57 acres) of lawns, trees, and playgrounds around a pond. Take a stroll down the queen's ceremonial route from Buckingham Palace, spot the palace and the London Eye from the Blue Bridge, and enjoy a waterside meal at Inn the Park while spotting ducks, geese, swans, and even pelicans. While in the park, keep an eye out for some of the plaques along the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Walk. This 11 km (7 mi) route past buildings and locations related to the princess goes through this park, as well as Green Park, Hyde Park, and Kensington Gardens. A visit to St. James's Park represents just the start of the adventure when you use our London travel route builder website to plot your vacation.

St. James's Park Reviews
I enjoy this park everytime I come to London. Lots of birds and other animals to spot. Cheerful and relaxing. Nice little shop for elevenses. more »
My favourite place for a short walk after lunch. Great scenes especially the waterfront during summer time. more »
Right across the street from one end of St. James Park is the Horse Guard of the Queen. I'm including a photo of that so you know what to look for. Just as a point of interest. The park is also right ... more »
A Royal Park Great to visit all year round. Flowers in spring and summer, a lake with varieties of birds like pelicans and swans, and the breathtaking views of the Buckingham Palace and the White Castle, plus a walk through the Mall, a glimpse of the London eye. All fantastical. One of the best royal parks in London. Superb and awe inspiring and a walking distance to Trafalgar Sq, London Chinatown, the National Portrait Gallery, Parliament Sq and the Big Ben just to name a few landmarks of the city that is London. Unforgettable x
The park is too nice and kids can play over here and spend good weekend. Cafe's are also there in the park. Its near to St. James station. Also Buckingham Palace is near to this so you can visit there as well and see the changing of guards. Can see my reviews and photos of that as well in separate feedback. Your reviews and comments on the pics will be highly appreciated.😍😊😘
Lovely park setting in the centre of London close to Buckingham Palace. The lake and bird life are always good to see, especially the three resident pelicans! Toilet facilities are poor though which is a shame for a place that gets so many visitors. Nearest decent toilets are in Trafalgar Square.
A nicely landscaped park which features a beautiful body of water populated by various waterfowl, but it’s nowhere near big enough for a decent length run. It’ll also usually be complicated by the large number of walkers on the footpaths, and this will force you to repeatedly hop onto the grassy areas. Recommended spot for a vegan picnic.
A beautifully maintained park bang opposite the Buckingham Palace. You can find the duck lake and a lot more fishes in it. Even pelicans if your lucky. You can walk through this 50+ acre park. It's one of the oldest Royal Parks in London and a must visit once you come to the Buckingham Palace. Itsy second favorite after Regents Park.
