St. James's Park, London
(4.7/5 based on 11,000+ reviews on the web)
St. James's Park is one of the most pleasurable green spaces in London. The oldest of the city's royal parks, it offers 23 hectares (57 acres) of lawns, trees, and playgrounds around a pond. Take a stroll down the queen's ceremonial route from Buckingham Palace, spot the palace and the London Eye from the Blue Bridge, and enjoy a waterside meal at Inn the Park while spotting ducks, geese, swans, and even pelicans. While in the park, keep an eye out for some of the plaques along the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Walk. This 11 km (7 mi) route past buildings and locations related to the princess goes through this park, as well as Green Park, Hyde Park, and Kensington Gardens. • The St. james Park runs from Trafalgar Square to Buckingham Palace and is one of the most important London Walks not only for tourists, who come here to admire the many animals that inhabit the Park, first of all ducks and squirrels, but also for Londoners who choose it as a place of the lunch break. It's a nice and relaxing walk, truly not to be missed!

  • One of the best parks in London with friendly squirrels :) Take a walk along the lake, do not miss the pelicans near Horseguard Parade. Nice photo opportunity from the bridge, in the middle of the park. During summer you can hire a deck chair and enjoy the sunshine. The park can be quite busy with tourists due to its central location and famous places nearby.
  • A fantastic park to visit. I was taken there almost every year as I grew up visiting London, I continue to visit the park now I am grown up, and if I was to ever have children, Will take them. It can get busy but its always a pleasure to return and feed the birds and squirrels.
  • Been a one of the Royal Parks I have loved most been spending time here since a child. Lovely well kept park with the added extra of being the new Trafalger Square with its Pigeons and Squirrels that seem so tame. Fantastic all year round, with some great vendors if you find yourself hungry or thirsty.
  • A great Park with lovely areas for people to sit and relax on the grass. There are large ponds with a variety of bird and fish life with well taken care of grounds. The facilities in the park are limited and toilets are pay based (some at 20p others at 50p) and not all worth paying for. There are small stalls for ice cream, drinks and snacks but the prices are average to high. Well worth the visit.
  • What's not to like about the park? It is open, fresh air and close to all your favourite tourist attractions including Buckingham Palace. Perfect time to visit is early in the morning. Pick up a to go coffee or tea some pastries and enjoy it on the park bench. It's incredibly serene and peaceful. If you're up for the challenge go for a run around the park. Any other time of the day and it's packed with tourists and pedestrians.
