What an absolute gem! Firstly it's a completely free attraction slap bang in the city of London so that's great in it own right. The farm has so much character it is just incredible. A real must if yo...  more »

FREE and very close to the much-visited Brick Lane. Spitalfields City Farm is one of several such urban farms that I have visited. Founded in 1978, it is wedged between Buxton Street and a railway lin...  more »

I really enjoyed this farm. The animals are very sweet, and I love the quaint feeling it has about it. It's colourful and full of things to see. They have a large variety of chickens and ducks, miniat...  more »

  • A great farm to enjoy and spend a full day. Sizewise the farm is not so big but great place to be with kids. They have few natural reserves, a wooden tree house, playground including the animals. You can spend time by gardening, feeding the animals or can enjoy a picnic. There is a small cafe inside and it is free to visit. They arrange annual goat race.
  • Where else can you find two pigs named Holmes n Watson and a donkey named Derek next to some of the best indian food in one of the world's best city!
  • I used to live beside this farm. I’d pass by the donkeys every morning on my way to work. I like donkeys. They’ve also got some goats. I like goats too. There’s a café inside. It’s small, but charming.
  • A charming city farm with very well looked after animals, well worth a visit as entry is free (though donations are welcome/expected)
  • Nice litle farm with many animals, perfect for kids who don't see a lot of animals every day

Where to stay in London

Many of London's main attractions are spread out, so nearby public transportation is key. There is no downtown area as such in London, and some of the least expensive hotels have more convenient access to tourist sites than the costlier ones. For a quintessential London experience, consider staying in the West End. This part of town offers excellent theaters, historical sites, and eating and shopping options for every taste. Lodging won’t be cheap, but you’ll have the colorful variety of London life right at your doorstep. Look at Notting Hill or Chelsea for charming and less expensive boutique hotels and B&Bs.
