  • This was super romantic and even though I'm not a skater I enjoyed it here. The rink isn't massive, but I found it big enough! Went with my boyfriend on a December night and it was really festive and ...  read more »
  • In the courtyard of Somerset House, once owned by the Earl of Somerset, in summer there are wonderful fountains and winter skating rink opened to all comers. Produces excellent photos.

  • I had a look at the ice rink at Somerset House on Wednesday 2 December and after the shock of hearing the rather unusual music I really enjoyed the atmosphere and watching the skaters. I recorded a few clips of video, edited them and loaded a video to YouTube (Skaters Rock Somerset House). Whilst I was working on the video I found that I enjoyed the music more than I had done when I first heard it. A Lady told me that Wednesday night is "Rock Music" night. It certainly made a change from the "Skaters Waltz". Congratulations to everyone involved. Michael Parkinson
  • Tied with the Natural History Museum as the best place to go skating at Christmas in London. The tree and lighting here, surrounded by the beautiful art-deco facade of the house is a wonderful experience.
  • Skating in the courtyard makes you feel how marvelous the grand and classical building fuses with winter enjoyment. A wonderful experience of skating there!
  • Great experience on the ice for most abilities! Attentive and helpful staff.
  • My favourite London outdoor ice rink, such a lovely festive thing to do. There's a cafe serving hot drinks and snacks, a huge christmas tree and music - which varies accrording to time of day. Costs about £14,50 for an adult, theres also a children's area with penguin stabilisers!
