Soho Square, London

(4/5 based on 50+ reviews on the web)
Relax and take in the quaint garden atmosphere of Soho Square, a tranquil spot in the midst of a vibrant neighborhood. The center of this small park dates back to 1681 and the times of Charles II, commemorated in the statue that overlooks the square. Do as the locals do and have a picnic, play table tennis, or listen to open-air free concerts in the summer. Deep under the square extend wide catacombs that belong to St. Patrick's Church, and historical buildings surround the park. • Visited here on a cold December Sunday so was very quiet. I can well imagine though that it gets packed on a hot sunny day. As another reviewer has commented it is more of a small garden park than a "...  more »
  • This pleasant little square hid inside the quarter. I came here with Oxford Street, turned into a narrow zaulok Soho Street and was really shocked with the contrast: just a couple of minutes walk and how quiet and calm here compared to the hustle and bustle of the main shopping streets. Even in October at vystrizhennyh carefully lawns here rested whether citizens or tourists. Most of all I was impressed with the hut in the Centre of the Park. It is a pity that the tiny House in the style of half-timbered houses inside not to get, but it looked very exotic trees, Palm trees and other houses area

  • When I went to spring is beautiful, Tulip and lilac Oh a prickly came was because weather did not and just came back again in winter, but I felt the people scattered in a completely different place. I have still not seasonal. It is winter's indoor Museum and art gallery.

  • Spending a sunny summer afternoon having a few drinks while chatting to friends is a must in London. And when the square closes at dawn it will be rime to visit the many bars nearby. And if you're lucky enough to work on the area why not coming here to have lunch? It's a gem in the heart of London!
  • Nice gardens but often overcrowded with the work lunch crowd. In the summer they are often watering the grass during the busiest hours as well so finding a space to sit can be tricky. Worth visiting to check out the old gardener's shed in the centre of the square. They do have a couple of ping-pong tables and occasionally a piano which is nice
  • this is a really cute and small garden in the heart of Soho, with a strange small house in the middle. It's a really nice place to be in the summer. Only giving 2 stars because no animals allowed.
  • A popular spot at lunchtime to sit and listen to the bells ring nearby, birds fly by and... people playing ping pong. In the summer there are plenty of people sitting on the grass but be careful of the mud if it's rained!
  • Great park to sit in but it does get busy during the day if the sun is out, especially at lunch when all of us londoners flock to the closest patch of green we can :)
