  • The Saatchi Gallery is modern, free, and not too big. It specialises in modern and conceptual art and will not be to many people's taste, but it is worth going for the experience. It has an interestin...  more »
  • Though I live in London, for some reason I had never got round to visiting Saatchi Gallery. I am so glad I recently got to visit as it was so beautiful. I recommend visiting on a bright sunny morning ...  more »

  • Only my personal opinion because if modernism was my thing, it would probably get 5 stars. Pros- great location just off Kings Rd, beautiful building, spacious & well presented. Courteous staff, free cloakroom, great loos. All free exhibitions, not at all crowded. And the gift shop was fab! Cons- the art itself! Some interesting pieces but as I said, not my thing. Too weird! But still glad I went &worth the effort.
  • Everything an art museum has to offer is on offer. Their gift shop is really great - quirky presents all around. The location is brilliant, a few hundred meters away from good restaurants. Makes for a great day out.
  • Ten rooms of exceptional art, that spanned a number of different techniques. The room size, placement of the art and lighting made viewing the art a real pleasure. Bravo
  • Exhibitions at the gallery are always interesting, but it's worth also recommending the first floor bookshop and gift shop: they have an unusual selection both of more 'arty' items, and also just fun good design.
  • We went to see Jenny Saville but not there!! They need to update their information . Very dissapointed as travelled from buckinghamshire and according to staff we where one of many who have done this So my conclusion is a better communication from them would improve things

Where to stay in London

Many of London's main attractions are spread out, so nearby public transportation is key. There is no downtown area as such in London, and some of the least expensive hotels have more convenient access to tourist sites than the costlier ones. For a quintessential London experience, consider staying in the West End. This part of town offers excellent theaters, historical sites, and eating and shopping options for every taste. Lodging won’t be cheap, but you’ll have the colorful variety of London life right at your doorstep. Look at Notting Hill or Chelsea for charming and less expensive boutique hotels and B&Bs.
