Queen Mary's Gardens, London
Categories: Gardens, Nature & Parks
One of London's quietest and greenest corners, Queen Mary's Gardens contains the city's largest rose collection, boasting over 12,000 roses. Nearly 100 neat beds display dozens of varieties, from classic to modern. Part of a 166 hectare (410 acre) park in the northwestern section of London, the gardens also contain nearly 9,000 begonias. Named after the wife of King George V and completed in 1934, the gardens lure visitors with their rich scents and colorful blossoms. Early summer is considered the best time to see the gardens, when most of the plants are in full bloom. Wanted by Queen mary this garden contains over a hundred different types of roses, as well as a pond with geese and swans, and very nice views. I visited at the end of September, a time when there are no roses, yet I've seen so many and so many different kinds. Recommend the visit at all.show original
inside regent garden you will find a small section nammed queen marks gardens , its just another regular garden nothing special about it at all , the rest of regent garden has much better views
The most beautiful part of the Regent’s Park is this delightful garden, perfect for taking a walk during hot, summer evening. It was magical having a cup of coffee in this green paradise!
Last year I documented this fully on my Google Plus account over at "AngellSoho" with all the Rose varieties and the "rebloomers" I love this park and visit it regularly during the year and more so during the Rose season of the Spring and Summer. Will be documenting it for 2016 so if you want to see some beautiful roses you can do a Google search and look out my collection relating to Queen Mary's Rose Garden which includes my lovely black swans. Totally wonderful experience.
In my opinion the best places to see roses in summer, even though there is also a rose garden in Hyde Park. Best time of visit is June.
Looks phenomenal in spring! It should be one of the most beautiful places in London for a walk in a sunny day.
Beautiful gardens. Unfortunately we were at the wrong time for the roses
it's nice and relaxing place when sun shines
