Where to stay in London

Many of London's main attractions are spread out, so nearby public transportation is key. There is no downtown area as such in London, and some of the least expensive hotels have more convenient access to tourist sites than the costlier ones. For a quintessential London experience, consider staying in the West End. This part of town offers excellent theaters, historical sites, and eating and shopping options for every taste. Lodging won’t be cheap, but you’ll have the colorful variety of London life right at your doorstep. Look at Notting Hill or Chelsea for charming and less expensive boutique hotels and B&Bs.

  • It's essentially a merchandise shop with a photo op outside. They have a trolley and owl setup, photographer ready, set you with a scarf, and get you to jump. Ummmm. Not quite the Hogwarts Express exp...  more »

  • My student had a wonderful time in the shop and having her photograph taken. The staff went out of their way to make the experience a great one. However, my student, in her excitement, left her purse in the shop. The staff saw the purse and immediately took it to lost property and we were able to have it sent to her 'with all her cards and money untouched' incredible!!! how lucky was she! Thank you Harry Potter Team - great job!
  • Went to there this morning, I was holding my baby waiting in line for about an hour. I just went there by myself with the baby, I heard the staffs can help you take good pictures, so I thought they would help me and my baby take a really good pic. How ever, I saw the staff pose people and fly the scarf for them but except us. The staff just give me a scarf and leave us there, no post no flying scarf no nothing. I don't know why!! Because of I'm Asian? Or I was with an infant? I still purchased the picture which was sucks
  • Probably most Harry Potter fans would be satisfied with what the shop has to offer. There is a selection of wands, scarfs, hats, t-shirts and many other objects branded with the logos of the Hogwarts houses. A lot of tourists visit the place because of Platform 9 3/4 but in case you are determined to take a photo there be prepared to wait in a long line (even early in the morning)
  • Totally worth it if you are a Harry Potter fan. Get your picture taken outside Platform 9 3/4. Kind of takes you back to the nostalgic Harry Potter books and movies days.
  • Extremely long lines; no one seems to understand how to line up. The staff made people jump while holding the cart. I dont remember that in the books or movies? the cart was kind of lame, there wasn't even an owl in the cage. The staff let you take your own photos and were courteous, which was nice. The shop was overpriced, but that's to be expected in a tourist shop I suppose.
