  • A place mainly for locals. Can walk hours and find nothing although plenty of thins around you. Don't spend time for it, many others better than it.  more »

  • Very interesting tourist market. Lots for everyone and taste. Cheap too. Treasure hunt bargain market! Exotic food stalls and souvenirs too! You can change your wardrobe for less than £100 if you know what to look for. The children love it too.
  • I’ve been going to Petticoat Lane Market for over a year now and, having now tried most of the meals from the food trucks, I can say it’s a good place to grab a reasonably priced bite to eat (£3.50 - £6.00). The food trucks vary from Middle Eastern, Malaysian, Chinese, Caribbean and Spanish food. You’re spoilt for choice. For a ‘first timer’ I would recommend the Chicken Satay, Falafel Wrap or the Katsu wrap
  • Nice place to walk through on a Thursday lunchtime. Not the busy hubbub of a Sunday but plenty of stalls to look around. Would want to come back on a Sunday.
  • I am a local resident and have seen pigeons in the food stalls next to the food and food stall workers washing dishes on the street. In addition, they have no access to running water and the area is infested with rats. I have reported the food stalls to the council.
  • Great deals on street market food. Get a curry at the end of the road!

Where to stay in London

Many of London's main attractions are spread out, so nearby public transportation is key. There is no downtown area as such in London, and some of the least expensive hotels have more convenient access to tourist sites than the costlier ones. For a quintessential London experience, consider staying in the West End. This part of town offers excellent theaters, historical sites, and eating and shopping options for every taste. Lodging won’t be cheap, but you’ll have the colorful variety of London life right at your doorstep. Look at Notting Hill or Chelsea for charming and less expensive boutique hotels and B&Bs.
