  • Great space - very clean and tidy and surrounded by flashy restaurants, food shops and coffee shops. There is also a few bars and a modern pub further up. Main open area regularly has some kind of eve...  more »
  • Through a carved stone door, on one side of St Paul's Cathedral, we find this square between modern buildings in the city of London, in whose Center rises a source column-shaped in memory of the great fire of London. In the center of the same Sun had occupied to rest, read or contemplate what broadcast a grandisisima screen, where we could see that temporarily classic movies were scheduled for free to enjoy the square in summer. This plaza surrounded by glazed office buildings was grey, green, only stone, cement and glass, except for the sculptural details that are in the same. We spent longer than the same toward a subway station after seeing the facade of the Cathedral, although if we would have arrived at the time of screening the same us we would have been a little more

  • Rated at #510 on a list of London landmarks and deservedly so. Crushingly boring, sterile and devoid of atmosphere. The Frink shepherd sculpture an appropriate motif - herded sheep. Christopher Wren's restored and relocated Temple Bar Gateway is overwhelmed in this barren setting.
  • Famous for the First Dates restaurant. Free ping pong tables, good shops for lunch nearby.
  • A wonderful place, especially for the people working in the nearby office buildings. Often there is a big screen TV, table tennis and relaxing chairs. Food market and other activities also take place here
  • Nice little privately owned square away from traffic, often with small events in or a large TV to watch events like Wimbledon. When nice weather also maybe games like table tennis and deckchairs put out. Spoilt a bit by failure of the private security to enforce no cycling, although a person would have to be dumb to do it anyway
  • Always a nice walk through here. And yes that is The First Dates Restaurant.

Where to stay in London

Many of London's main attractions are spread out, so nearby public transportation is key. There is no downtown area as such in London, and some of the least expensive hotels have more convenient access to tourist sites than the costlier ones. For a quintessential London experience, consider staying in the West End. This part of town offers excellent theaters, historical sites, and eating and shopping options for every taste. Lodging won’t be cheap, but you’ll have the colorful variety of London life right at your doorstep. Look at Notting Hill or Chelsea for charming and less expensive boutique hotels and B&Bs.
