Where to stay in London

Many of London's main attractions are spread out, so nearby public transportation is key. There is no downtown area as such in London, and some of the least expensive hotels have more convenient access to tourist sites than the costlier ones. For a quintessential London experience, consider staying in the West End. This part of town offers excellent theaters, historical sites, and eating and shopping options for every taste. Lodging won’t be cheap, but you’ll have the colorful variety of London life right at your doorstep. Look at Notting Hill or Chelsea for charming and less expensive boutique hotels and B&Bs.

  • We went for my birthday, which is near Christmas. The restaurant as all are that time of year was packed. It felt has if we were having lunch with the couple next to us. Then the waiter hit my husband with the dessert trolley and knocked into him we on 2 further occasions, no apology. While the view is lovely, the food ok the atmosphere was terrible. There are so many good restaurants in London my advise would be to go elsewhere! Very disappointing!
  • Been here before and recently due to work 3 times in 6 weeks. Service is consistently average at best. The view is obviously good... The food is average to good no real wow factor so again another restaurant where the view inflates the price of the meal.
  • Lovely decor and the staff was all extremely friendly which I think is one of the most important things in a restaurant. The food was so delicious and rich. Had wanted to go here for years and wasn't disappointed when I finally got round to it. Only two minor downsides which were: seating felt too close to other tables and the sun shines straight through the large glass windows which can make you feel a bit bit & heated like being in a glasshouse and also shines right into your eyes, couldn't help but feel it would be useful if they had some sort of blinds to minimise this problem.
  • Must admit to not being as impressed as maybe I should have been. Came here for a Christmas work party. Food was okay but I've had decent food in a range of places many of them cheaper. The service was fine, as it should be, nothing to complain about. The view was very good. We sat down as the sun was setting and saw the river and St Paul's in lovely sunshine with a fabulous night view. Enjoyed dinner, left and went for a beer at the pub down the road - Doggetts Coat and Badge. I'd do that if I were you.
  • Nesting between the London Eye and the tate modern this iconic tower is the home of designers studios which are open to the public. The first floor at the back host several jewellers which create fabulous little rings and the top floor has great views over London, a must not to miss
