  • Though central to the square and the city, the column is not really what draws the attention in this vast space. That said, those in Trafalgar Square should get close enough to see it, even if there i...  more »
  • The statue of Lord Nelson in Trafalgar Square is my favorite London landmark. The statue and column upon which it stands measure a little over 169 feet high which makes Lord Nelson visible from quite ...  more »

  • A beautiful monument to Lord Nelson. It's a nice place to go and you can get some fantastic pictures. The history of Lord Nelson is also a part of the amazement of this place.
  • Bonfires lit in celebration of the end of WWII cracked the west side of the Dartmoor granite pedestal. This crack was preserved during the 2006 refurbishment rather than fixed in order to conserve the consequences of that heated moment of victory. This is a victory monument so such damage is rather fitting.
  • Nelsons Column is OK, if not somewhat overrated, but Trafalgar Square itself is a nice place to chill out for a few minutes and have lunch. When I was a kid, we could feed the pigeons at Trafalgar Square; disgusting creatures, more like flying rats and vermin, dropping bird dhit everywhere!
  • A must see and do! Located in a vibrant area with the art gallery on site, a coffee shop and everything else around it. Great starting point for any visit to London!
  • A beautiful monument in Trafalgar square. One of the famous London landmarks.
