#19 of 275 in Shopping in London
The iconic Liberty store is known for its luxurious goods of eclectic design. When it opened in 1875, the store originally sold ornaments, fabric, and art from the East. Today when you enter the mock Tudor building, you are met with luxury goods from all over the world. Browse the women’s, men’s, and children’s fashion, jewelry, cosmetics and fragrances, home ware, furniture, and more. Indulge yourself with a treatment in the foot spa or beauty treatment rooms, a haircut in the salon or barbers, and even pick up a bouquet at the florist. Complete your visit by relaxing in the cafe with a meal, glass of wine, or a cup of tea. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Liberty by using our London itinerary builder.

Visited on a day trip to London with my sister. This store is huge!! So many floors, and so much choice of clothes. Expensive, but to be expected. Lovely store.  more »

The restaurant is really good for a small dessert after s long walks in the city. Beautiful service English should go for tea which is very cheap compared to other places. The store is very nice high-end it goes without saying, but globalization is the same everywhere for the luxury brands. The kitchen is very nice things. Small haven of peace after the frenzy of Oxford and Carnaby restaurant

  • Love the guy from the Aesop department! Good service and always so helpful finding what I wanted. Best service ever! 10/10 they also gave me free samples to test it at home :)
  • A truly excellent store but too crammed with product and unclear to navigate. Excellent staff, some menswear unique to them on UK and good sale items. Online experience is quick, easy and efficient.
  • The shop is amazing, old wooden Tudor palace just off Oxford Circus and the design inside is beautiful. You can find very original and high end products. The only negative note is the generally very high prices. However it's worth visiting regardless.
  • For me it is a beautiful Arts and Crafts building that speaks to your innermost being before you even step inside the door, and as you step over the threshold the scent of fresh cut flowers enraptures you with the scent of nature not piped artificial scents. Creativity is what it is about, some of the best in artisan wears are there, like a living breathing art gallery, but climb the stairs to the haberdashery and innovative displays invite the onlookers to create their own treasures using the beautiful textiles on sale. It lives and breathes the essence of the arts and crafts movement, a treasure and a haven from a sometimes hard edged disposable outside world. A place that is heaven to enter and hard to leave behind.
  • Love this authentically old department store which oozes English history dating back beyond 1875 (founding year). The store stocks delightful high end products from scrumptious chocolates to exquisite jewellery, fine silks and the most delightful shoes....must visit when in London

Where to stay in London

Many of London's main attractions are spread out, so nearby public transportation is key. There is no downtown area as such in London, and some of the least expensive hotels have more convenient access to tourist sites than the costlier ones. For a quintessential London experience, consider staying in the West End. This part of town offers excellent theaters, historical sites, and eating and shopping options for every taste. Lodging won’t be cheap, but you’ll have the colorful variety of London life right at your doorstep. Look at Notting Hill or Chelsea for charming and less expensive boutique hotels and B&Bs.
