  • Great location, good size car park city (charged at £1 for 5 hours). Located nice marshes, canal, natural reserves.
  • Going for 2 weeks for lessons. Can skate well now. Many thanks to Francis and Karen (my coaches) and a Kelly? I'm not too sure. But please CONTROL THE CHILDREN WHO GO IN THERE
  • Great for grown-ups skating on thu, fri, sat eves. 6 week courses run regularly on thu eves with excellent instructors.
  • Nice rink, but toilets are a little rough especially if your taking kids
  • We have recently started skating again and my wife, daughter and I now go every Sunday for the afternoon session. This session is VERY busy and the ice does get torn up badly because of this. I also don't believe they renew the ice before the afternoon session but they do straight after it, for the Hockey match. Read into that what you will. My wife and daughter also have lessons during the week and it is much less busy with better ice, as you would expect. We are considering switching to one week day evening so that I have always found the staff and regular skaters to be friendly and helpful. I think a lot of the problems come from amateur skaters (in hire boots) that don't know skate etiquette and have little control or understanding of the danger they pose to themselves and others. Perhaps the rink staff could be more overt in controlling these guys but they do a good job on the whole. I don't agree with other reviews regarding the costs. £8 for an adult plus £2 skate hire is pretty reasonable when you consider it is a 2.5 - 3 hour session. I don't see why kids should be any cheaper at all TBH as they still count towards the ring capacity, just as an adult does. If you are skating regularly, then investing in your own boots will bring the costs down a bit and improve your enjoyment.
