Visited with three children. Was very quiet so my the children had lots of room to manoeuvre around. Very good value for money and a thoroughly well spent two hours. Would definitely go again
The Lee Valley Ice Centre is situated in the Lee Valley Regional Park in London, England. Figure Skating, ice hockey and public skating sessions are all available. We had fun!
One of the most frustrating experiences ever. Apart from stupid kids practically somersualting all over the place, showing off their moves as you try desperately to pick it up for the first time, the staff are absolutely disgusting. When we first arrived i asked about the lockers, and stupidly asked if it was safe to put valuables there. They made this big hoo haa over it laughed and said yes. I literally had three quid in my bag,to eat after and when i got back the locker was open and it was gone.. It was clearly them. WHO THE HELL STEALS A TEENAGERS LUNCH MONEY? No words avoidd!! 😡😡😡
We have recently started skating again and my wife, daughter and I now go every Sunday for the afternoon session. This session is VERY busy and the ice does get torn up badly because of this. I also don't believe they renew the ice before the afternoon session but they do straight after it, for the Hockey match. Read into that what you will. My wife and daughter also have lessons during the week and it is much less busy with better ice, as you would expect. We are considering switching to one week day evening so that I have always found the staff and regular skaters to be friendly and helpful. I think a lot of the problems come from amateur skaters (in hire boots) that don't know skate etiquette and have little control or understanding of the danger they pose to themselves and others. Perhaps the rink staff could be more overt in controlling these guys but they do a good job on the whole. I don't agree with other reviews regarding the costs. £8 for an adult plus £2 skate hire is pretty reasonable when you consider it is a 2.5 - 3 hour session. I don't see why kids should be any cheaper at all TBH as they still count towards the ring capacity, just as an adult does. If you are skating regularly, then investing in your own boots will bring the costs down a bit and improve your enjoyment.
Very good practice for the kids we loved it fantasic
