George Frederic left such a legacy to this world yet to us none of this could be experienced in this somewhat listless building. Even some of the meagre recordings of his works were barely audible and... read more »

You already know that this is a museum, but did you know that it also hosts events? Tip: Check out the "What's On" section of the website for unique events related to both periods of music. This evening's concert was a duet - harpsichord (Handel) and electric guitar (Jimi Hendrix). What an interesting combination it was! So fitting in this venue, and what a deal for £10!
Flicking through Jimi's record collection... what a joy
The Handel House Museum was rather bland, with an assortment of artifacts disassociated with Handel. A lack of actual original manuscripts and equipment, with guides of no help made the experience less than par for music museums in the area. Not worth £6 per person.
Fascinating museum; not huge, but with interestingly diverse contents. We went because it was a National Trust partner and had no particular expectations, and came out with an improved knowledge of Georg Friedrich Händel, Susannah Maria Cibber / Arne - and Jimi Hendrix! A pleasant way to spend an hour, and children will no doubt enjoy admiring themselves in the dressing up room mirror (the only room in the house where photos are allowed).
Hendrix and Handel should have equal place. To use Jimis flat as an office is a disgrace. Open them both. That has to make sense commercially too.
