  • It’s close to Buckingham Palace, but probably gets missed by most tourists. It’s very well done, and gives a personal look at Guardsmen’s lives through the centuries. Big picture history and fine poin...  more »

  • If you are into the british guards and uniforms you will love it. But if you do not know all about it, it looks like a lot of the same without any really clarifying. A lot of small details that are not really connected. Not much story in it and not too much info
  • Good professional lunchtime concerts 1 hour only. Very interesting chapel. Also a Guards Museum there
  • Very small museum and definitely not worthy the £6 (and all the walk to find the place). The price would not be a problem at all if there were more real uniforms and less miniatures (which are in the very end, on a table way too low for you to actually see without bending your back). They definitely could move this into a bigger museum. The bigger museum would be even better and the content of this one would be way more appreciated (I walked by 3 people while I was there).
  • When visitors come to London one of the major attractions they like to experience is, The Changing of The Guard, at Buckingham Palace. The Guards look splendid in their traditional red tunics, and their famous black busbies, and black trousers, with their very shiny boots, as they march down The Mall. Well there is one place where you can find out about the history of The Guards, and that is The Guards Museum, in Birdcage Walk, only five minutes away from Buckingham Palace. The museum has on display the uniforms that the Guards wore through the ages, plus medals, which were won in the many campaigns that the Guards fought in, campaign flags, weapons etc, beautifully presented. There is also the Guards shop that sells model toy soldiers and military equipment from well known events in military history, it has some wonderful displays. If you do decide to make a visit, allow at least half a day to see the exhibits, there is a lot to see !! There is no photography allowed in the museum, so I am unable to show pictures of the exhibits in the museum.
  • It was a very wet day and we came across the museum by chance. An amazing story.
