  • Fantastic market in heart of Greenwich, lots of exciting stalls. One in particular impressed me, was a stall selling original artwork by Charlie Leach, who incidentally runs it. He's there every Monday, and some weekends. It's worth a visit to see his work, it's excellent, and cheap to buy also.
  • A mix of really good stuff and trash. Definitely worth a look though. There's all kinds of food options available, vintage clothing, furniture, antiques as well as lovely gifts by artists etc. Its location is great as well. good transport links and a lovely area to wander when the weather is nice
  • Great place to visit on weekends. There is a good selection of food stands and a lot of choices for shopping lovers. I particularly enjoyed the beef steak sandwich with melted cheddar from one of the stands. But be ready to queue, because it gets crowded, especially at lunch time!
  • Have you heard of Rubys of London, a vegan patisserie? Their brownies are incredible. There are some other vegan option on the market as well, including Brazil peanut cookies that should not be missed. It can be busy, but you can grab your food and have a little picnic in the Greenwich park. How cool is that?
  • Quaint little market. Nice to experience the different things that they have here. Can get quite crowded but definitely would recommend to new comers to the areas. You can pick up all sorts of arts and crafts from here if you're lucky/look for it.

Where to stay in London

Many of London's main attractions are spread out, so nearby public transportation is key. There is no downtown area as such in London, and some of the least expensive hotels have more convenient access to tourist sites than the costlier ones. For a quintessential London experience, consider staying in the West End. This part of town offers excellent theaters, historical sites, and eating and shopping options for every taste. Lodging won’t be cheap, but you’ll have the colorful variety of London life right at your doorstep. Look at Notting Hill or Chelsea for charming and less expensive boutique hotels and B&Bs.
