  • The famous English galleon, captained by Sir Francis Drake, is best known for its voyage around the globe in the 16th century. Her name was originally Pelican, but Drake renamed her after the crest of...  read more »
  • We booked our overnight stay as a group of eight, four adults and four children. We were met by our host who took us to the Den (off-ship) to change into our costumes and take a tankard! The kids love...  read more »
  • Great fun for all the family. Amazing to step back in time and experience life on the sea. A must for kids to fit in with their curriculum. Travellers its pure british history at its best.
  • This is a great day out for the kids, especially if you can catch one of the seasonal "Performance" tours. They certainly make the ship come alive, but can also be a little gross at times... but hey, the kids seem to get a laugh. Just a reminder for anyone over 5' 6" tall... you WILL hit your head, so you've been warned.
  • After a fabulous lunch at Borough Market this is a real find. This ship, albeit a replica, is real History. You'll be staggered by just how this little beauty could have circumvented the globe. Continue your walk along the South Bank...
  • Love sail ships. This just oozes history written all over it although this is a reconstruction. You can start to imagine life as a 16th century explorer aboard the Golden Hinde II. A faithful full sized reconstruction of the ship Sir Francis Drake used to circumnavigate the globe between 1577-80. Must have been really tough out there on the high seas and what an adventure, no satellites, nothing but the ability to navigate by the sun, stars and guess-timating wind directions. This looks very beautiful lit up at night.
  • I guarantee you'll hear people call this the Cutty Sark! Lovely area hidden away in the Southbank
  • An excellent way to have a pirate ship adventure with your kids on the South bank. It is also a popular venue for private birthday parties.
