We went on the 13th August and were very disappointed with the whole afternoon tea. We were seated very late booked for 5pm and sat down after 5.20. The table was not cleared well and there was a lot ...  more »

An excellent place for Hi Tea, they do not allow a couple to share the Tea, both have to place orders seperately, and the quantity becomes too much. Though having said that, the experience is what you...  more »

An elegant afternoon tea with family after a tired tour at the City of London. We enjoyed the tea and food. Staff is polite and attentive.  more »

  • Although it's world famous for it's tea, as a Londoner I'd never been. The tea section is really incredible you can smell all the different flavours and even have a taste of some. As Easter is approaching the floor was stocked with amazing treats. We headed into the tea room for more tea and some tea cakes, served with butter and jam,as they should be. I had some of the Christening tea designed for the christening of Prince George while my friend had an English Breakfast. The Christening tea was light and fragrant.
  • Went to Fortnum & Mason's Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon for a great afternoon tea experience. The afternoon tea set comes with 3 tiers of high tea goodness which happens to be refreshable too. We opted for the tea tasting experience too and our tea sommelier was great - walked us through the different types of tea, different flavors and different grades of tea.
  • Awesome wine selection and spirit selection in the basement. Love the tea selection on the ground floor as well. Super pretty store to go in and walk around to be honest with lots of yummy biscuits and chocolates. The grocery section is sooo nice. You'll see so much delicious food you are bound the get hungry.
  • Simply delightful! How many department stores outfit their staff in tux and tails? The definition of class! Beautiful store, impeccable displays! Wish I could fit one of their marvelous hampers in my carry-on! I purchased teas, honey, and beautiful signature blue tins of their Florentines to take home as gifts for all my friends and relatives.
  • I can definitely recommend the afternoon tea in the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon. Yes, it is a little pricey but you can request extra sandwiches and pastries plus other cakes from a selection, unlimited top ups of your chosen tea and when you are finished they will box up any remaining goodies for you to take away. The service was amazing, as you would probably expect, but I have to mention our server Adam because he was so friendly and does a fantastic job.

Where to stay in London

Many of London's main attractions are spread out, so nearby public transportation is key. There is no downtown area as such in London, and some of the least expensive hotels have more convenient access to tourist sites than the costlier ones. For a quintessential London experience, consider staying in the West End. This part of town offers excellent theaters, historical sites, and eating and shopping options for every taste. Lodging won’t be cheap, but you’ll have the colorful variety of London life right at your doorstep. Look at Notting Hill or Chelsea for charming and less expensive boutique hotels and B&Bs.
