  • We met some of their friendly and knowledgeable representatives at a tasting session at our local pub. The gin was tasty (especially their #1 and house gins) and their reps talked about their bar, reassuring us that it was a dog friendly venue. We'd been past a few times so thought we'd drop in with our two dogs. We were greeted by a friendly waitress and invited to share a table. Just as we sat down, a waiter came in, scowled at the dogs and asked us to move to the central island so that the dogs wouldn't be in the way. Fair enough. We immediately obliged and were tying them up at the central island when within seconds the waiter returned and again quite rudely and unnecessarily insisted we tie them up to keep them out of the way. We were disappointed that it was not as dog friendly as advertised and thought the waiter was needlessly belligerent. We left to find another pub which was much more welcoming. We didn't get any drinks at the East London Liquor Company but I'm giving 2* because it was a nice looking venue, the waitress was friendly, and we'd enjoyed their gin. If anyone at the company is reading this, please have a word with that waiter! Some of the other reviews on here mention a rude waiter too and I suspect it's the same one!
  • Visited the restaurant yesterday after spending a day at the park. Ordered three pizzas and some wine and water. The service was really slow, the staff seemed too relaxed. Pizzas were tasty but unfortunately all three of us had bad stomachs before sleep and dia****a the next morning. Will NOT be returning.
  • Very beautiful. Amazing cocktails. Food is good but not great. Very strong gin and whisky selection.
  • The gin was a treat and the food was delicious. Bartender was very knowledgeable about their product and the company. The interior was very cool and industrial chic, would be a great space for a private party. We ate and drank in the bar area as opposed to the restaurant.
  • we had one drink here which was fine but then we were completely ignored, we had wanted to try another but in the end as nobody served us we ended up leaving. There are much better cocktail places in east London with great customer service.

Where to stay in London

Many of London's main attractions are spread out, so nearby public transportation is key. There is no downtown area as such in London, and some of the least expensive hotels have more convenient access to tourist sites than the costlier ones. For a quintessential London experience, consider staying in the West End. This part of town offers excellent theaters, historical sites, and eating and shopping options for every taste. Lodging won’t be cheap, but you’ll have the colorful variety of London life right at your doorstep. Look at Notting Hill or Chelsea for charming and less expensive boutique hotels and B&Bs.
