Where to stay in London

Many of London's main attractions are spread out, so nearby public transportation is key. There is no downtown area as such in London, and some of the least expensive hotels have more convenient access to tourist sites than the costlier ones. For a quintessential London experience, consider staying in the West End. This part of town offers excellent theaters, historical sites, and eating and shopping options for every taste. Lodging won’t be cheap, but you’ll have the colorful variety of London life right at your doorstep. Look at Notting Hill or Chelsea for charming and less expensive boutique hotels and B&Bs.

  • I visited this lovely park today. It's a shame that the recently refurbished cafe is a rip off. I paid £9.95 today for a small and poor quality chicken and avocado salad. I won't be eating there again...  more »
  • One of the best park yet! Spacious and filled with great variety of interesting trees. Lovely duck pond and bridge with a boat house nearby where one can rent paddle boats. There's a cafe with toilet ...  more »

  • Restored late Victorian park with an array of commendable amenities has a distinctive 'old world promenade' flavour. The pond with a boardwalk surrounded by an astounding variety of trees and plants is particularly noteworthy. So much here to admire and enjoy. Look out for the Turkey Oak counted amongst London's 50 great trees.
  • Nice family orientated park. You definitely must be a dog lover as often there are off leashes. It's got a nice playground, outdoor gym and cafe all in the heart of the park. Also good for roller blading as quite flat.
  • We have a lot of fun with the kids here. Great play ground for all levels. Good busy cafe. Dog loves the place too.
  • One of London's lovely Victorian parks, with gardens and a lake, a playground, and open areas including playing fields. Bike and boat hire. Has a good café with others nearby, as well as the Dulwich Picture Gallery.
  • Great Park in the centre of Dulwich. Very popular with families. A lake to rent your peddle o on and plenty of nature and wildlife. Well maintained and of course not forgetting the ice cream van 👍
