  • This granite column rises at the very end of Regent Street, stop at waterlooplein. For it begins the stairs, I went on to the Street Mall and St James's Park. At the bottom you can see that the statue of the Duke of York at the very top of the surrounds a small square balcony with a fence. It is a pity that now get on this observation deck is impossible. As I understood it, it was closed due to dilapidation steps inside columns and tiny places on the lookout platform. In General, in London a lot much more interesting places, and the column I'd advise just to photograph from a distance-and go on to St James ' Park

  • This structure and monument can easily be missed and should be signposted so that more people would visit it and see its engineering and architectural beauty
  • If one is walking along The Mall or Waterloo Place/Pall Mall, it is worth stopping over; however, not work the detour; the monument is a tribute to Prince Frederick, Duke of York, the second son of Ge...  more »

  • Whilst (in my opinion) this is "just" a column, this happens to be a brilliant spot to watch a number of big London events. A good place to watch the NYE fireworks without the embankment crowds. Also, a good place to watch events along the Mall due to the elevation. However, the steps here are often closed off for safety reasons during big events. Worth checking...
  • Nice little spot to rest on the beautiful royal street: The Mall London, 22/08/2016
  • Like these stairs Next to ICA
  • Great column. Very erect
  • Nice area.
