Where to stay in London

Many of London's main attractions are spread out, so nearby public transportation is key. There is no downtown area as such in London, and some of the least expensive hotels have more convenient access to tourist sites than the costlier ones. For a quintessential London experience, consider staying in the West End. This part of town offers excellent theaters, historical sites, and eating and shopping options for every taste. Lodging won’t be cheap, but you’ll have the colorful variety of London life right at your doorstep. Look at Notting Hill or Chelsea for charming and less expensive boutique hotels and B&Bs.

  • After a long flight to London, we decided we should take the kids to a park to try to keep them up as long as possible. This park was amazing. They did such a beautiful job paying tribute to Princess ...  more »
  • The playground has several areas. A sandy pirate ship, a smooth 'rock' water play area, a wooden treehouse / climbing section, large tee-pees. There is a refreshment stand selling drinks and snacks. I...  more »
  • This playground has so many different playscapes and play areas that we could've spend many hours here with our preschooler. We especially liked the pirate ship and the music garden area.  more »

  • Had higher expectations, thought there would be something for my 9-year-old but no. Probably fun for small children up to 5-6 years of age. I actually think the playgrounds in the small town I live in (about 13000 inhabitants) are MUCH better!
  • Ideal for any age. If coming with little ones I recommend you bring some bath/beach toys as there are areas with sand and water. They'll love it!!
  • A perfect place to represent every thing that was good about Diana the only good thing to happen to the royal family. Kids of all ages can find something when we went there we were graced with the presence of a cheeky squirrel who ate our biscuits. Made the kids laugh though. Kids of all ages love the pirate ship hope it never leaves.
  • We went on a Saturday morning and arrived at around 10:30, the first really sunny day of the year. We didn't have to queue, but the playground quickly filled up and was quite over-populated. There's a lot for younger kids to do - a large climbing frame, boat, sand areas, water features, swings, etc. Easily spent hours there. By the time we left, the queue was quite long and they let in on a 20 out, 20 in policy.
  • My kids liked this place. For a tourist in a new city with young kids, this is a nice place to run around and have fun with the kids. It is ideally located in the northwest corner of Hyde Park.
